Antoine Bardou Jacquet from Partizan Midi Minuit directed this new TV spot for the French car company Peugeot. The ad mixes live-action footage with CG cars that sing along to Johnny Mercer’s Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate the Positive. The agency leading the effort was BETC Euro RSCG. Back in 2007, Jacquet produced another live-action/animation composited spot for Peugeot’s 1007 model.
Boards Magazine, a great resource for anyone in the commercial industry, has posted the 2009 Winners of their 10th Annual First Boards Awards, which highlights the best of the rising talent in the advertising community. While there is a specific category for animators, there are some brilliantly animated spots in the other categories as well. Okay, so we missed a few – we were enjoying the game! This year’s Super Bowl served up such an abundance of animated TV spots – we couldn’t keep up. While we featured a number of Coca-Cola ads, we somehow missed this one, titled Two Guys. It was directed by Valerie Pirson at Partizan, but the animation, with graphics support from Brand New School. The creative was overseeing by Wieden + Kennedy. I was certain PES worked on this, but alas, I am wrong.
Director Geoffroy De Crecy crafted this stop-motion music video for Rex the Dog, the British DJ/remixer also known as Jake Williams. It’s like a “making of” and the music video all wrapped into one. De Crecy works out of Partizan Lab, and this track is called Bubblicious.

Laurie Thinot of Partizan Lab, directs this cool music video, titled Stay the Same, for Autokratz. This is the kind of visual storytelling that keep 2D digital animation techniques fresh and original. The overhead projector style mixed with info-graphics make for an interesting animated motion design video. Laurie, along with animator Gustavo Almenara, keeps up with the frenetic beats while exhibiting a pure joy for her visual forms.
