New Zealand’s Ned Wenlock directed this new music video for the Australian ambient band Danger Beach. Wenlock teamed up with Rodney Selby, who helped with the character animation for the video titled Apache.

World-famous graffiti writers Askew One and Deus spent 6 straight days and 300 cans of paint bringing this music video to life on the walls of a warehouse in New Zealand. It’s for the track Addicted by Bliss N Eso.

Bond Animates Video For PHD

British-native Neil Bond directed and animated this new music video for the PHD, a hip hop crew based in Auckland. Bond crafted the video for the song All The Same using stop-motion.

Yukfoo Unwraps Preferably Blue Package To Festivals

New Zealand’s Yukfoo Animation has been tinkering with an in-house short for a few years now. Preferably Blue is the tale of the Easter Bunny bent on taking down Santa Claus, and it’s currently being submitted to various festivals. Here’s a :40 second trailer for the CG short:

The talented team at Yukfoo Animation Studios produced this new theatrical spot using a laborious method – hand-sewn fabrics shot in stop-motion. It promotes tourism in Wellington, a city in New Zealand.

Karactaz Cooks Up Animated Gingerbread

The Baking Industry Association of New Zealand (BIANZ) commissioned this CG spot that encourages viewers to vote for the Bakery of the Year. The agency Blackwood Communications Group partnered with Karactaz who animated the 1-minute homage to New Zealand explorer Sir Edmund Hillary. Gingerbread Ed was directed by Dylan Coburn.

Oneedo Finishes Bedbugs Odyssey

Pair of Kiwis Rock the Doc Festival

Brendon Hornell and Nick McHugh, working out of Origin One, created this promo for DOCNZ’s 2009 Documentary Film Festival. The short ended up winning the Docs Rock TV Commercial Competition for the festival, which runs from February 26th to March 8th in Auckland.

Students Brew a GTA Spoof

Five students at New Zealand-based Media Design School created this stop motion short, titled Great Tasting Americano, as part of a group project. They took 6 weeks to produce the spoof of the video game Grand Theft Auto. Animation was handled by Peter Green and Regan Music, character design by Thomas Hsien and set design by Gaurav Mehra and Leng Khun.
