A new clip from the upcoming feature Monsters vs. Aliens hit the web the other day. Here we watch Ginormica’s first encounter with the other monsters. This DreamWorks Animation film is set to hit theaters on March 27th, 2009.
The latest trailer for the DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming feature Monsters vs. Aliens offers us a look into Ginormica’s (Susan Murphy’s alias) origin story, plus plenty of sequences we haven’t seen before. We also hear a great line from Stephen Colbert’s character POTUS, or the President of the United States.
In related news, it’s been announced that DreamWorks and Paramount are betting the farm on a 90 second Super Bowl spot that will be broadcast in 3D (the film will be distributed in hundreds of InTru 3D equipped theaters). To experience the commercial in its peak form, you’ll need 3D glasses, which are being handed out at 28,000 retail locations that serve Pepsi. The film is set for release on March 27th, 2009.

But for the upcoming Monsters vs. Aliens feature from DreamWorks Animation, it’s hard not to get a little excited. They’ve tapped some of the funnier people in comedy to lead the cast, including Stephen Colbert, Rainn Wilson and Seth Rogen. Here’s a “first-look” from Entertainment Tonight that introduced many of the cast members:
The movie hits theaters March 27th, 2009.
Hot off their successes with Kung Fu Panda, DreamWorks Animation has released the trailer for their new original animated feature, Monsters vs. Aliens, directed by Rob Letterman and Conrad Vernon. The film, due in cinemas in March 2009, appears to be an homage to the creature features of the past. The story follows Susan, a woman hit by an alien meteorite and taken to a U.S. Government compound when she gains supernatural powers. Under the guidance of General W.R. Monger, on a desperate order from The President, a team of monsters is gathered to fight the oncoming attack of aliens. Check out the trailer here:

Of note, it seems this pic be DreamWorks Animation’s first foray into 3D cinema using Tru3D technology.
