A new Megamind short, titled Button of Doom, has been released along with the Megamind Two-Disc DVD Combo) today. Here’s a trailer for the new short:
DreamWorks Animation’s new feature film Megamind opens today, and I’m sure they’re hoping that they duplicate the success of Despicable Me ($480 million worldwide), a rather similar film. You see, they both center around villians who admit to the error of their ways and change for the good. Additionally, the protagonist villains are surrounded by comical minions (or a minion in the case of Megamind). This doppelganger effect has happened before in the animated feature realm many times:
1998 – Antz and A Bug’s Life
2005/2006 – Madagascar and The Wild
2006 – Open Season and Over The Hedge
2007/2008 – Ratatouille and The Tale Of Despereaux
Megamind, which was directed by Tom McGrath (Madagascar, Monsters vs. Aliens), is clinging to a 65% rating on RottenTomatoes.com, but boxofficeguru.com is predicting it might haul in $60 million this weekend alone. Alright, onto the clips. In this first one, Brad Pitt’s rather lifeless voice acting is on display. I have no grudge against him, but he doesn’t have the chops to pull off a meaty role like this:
And here we get top-notch performances from Will Ferrell (Megamind) and David Cross (Minion):
DreamWorks Animation has released another clip from their upcoming feature Megamind, which hits theaters on November 5th. Here we watch Megamind saving Roxanne Ritchi from a mega disaster.
Nickelodeon recently revealed the first 5 minutes of DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming CG feature Megamind. It’s the entire prologue, which leads to the titles. We learn the entire backstory of the two leads, Metroman and Megamind, rivals since shortly after birth. The feature arrives in theaters on November 5th.
DreamWorks Animation’s latest Megamind trailer reveals the backstories of Metro Man and Megamind, who both appear to have origins along the Superman lines. The feature arrives in theaters on November 5th.
Some of your missed Comic-con this year (like me), while others went, but couldn’t get into the panels they wanted to. I’m guessing the queue for DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming feature Megamind was a 3-hour wait, but thanks to your ol’ friend the Internet, you can see the extended Megamind trailer they showed inside those soft, movable walls.
I won’t retread my thoughts about DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming feature MegaMind, but if you want my rather dubious take – go back to March. Here’s the first full trailer for the CG feature, which is due in theaters November 5th.
