There’s been several great shorts recently released by Bezalel Academy students (like Or Bar-El’s Beat), but none better than this. Enjoy the stop-motion stylings of Udi Asoulin and Uriah Naeh, who crafted this 5-minute short titled Iluzia.
This short, comedic, dialog-free film by Guy Garibian was created during his second year at The Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem. The traditionally-animated short is simply titled Three Giraffes.
Tanya Grishko completed her studies at the Shenkar School of Design and Engineering with this film below. Dog Life is not only rich with unique illustration, water-color backgrounds and (mostly) fluid animation, but it’s also rather entertaining. However, I think she couldn’t figure out where exactly to take this story, but the ending still feels somewhat satisfying. Congrats on graduating, Tanya!
Nuni Weisz and Doron Assayas animated this little, musically-driven short while studying at Minshar School of Art in Israel. Doo Bee’s Striptease was produced with hand-sewn puppets using stop-motion animation.
I’m not a big fan of religions, but this short below caught my attention. The Tel Aviv-based company Keta Keta produced this short, titled Israel’s History – 4000 years in 4 minutes, which does what it says. Of course, all history is open to interpretation, but this did help me sort out how this big mideast mess got started.
As Pulitzer-prize winning animator Mark Fiore proves, animation can be a powerful tool in the political arena, and the Palistinian Hamas organization is hoping it can break steel bars. Captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit is offered in a trade for hundreds of jailed Palestinians, using emotion and key-frames to make their point.
