The adventures of Adventure Time have finally arrived. Tonight at 8pm E/P on Cartoon Network, Pen Ward’s new series officially kicks off. From what I’ve seen so far, the series features some truly inspired characters, bizarre set-ups and a really unique world. It’s great to see shows this gorgeous looking and twisted making it on-air. Here’s a featurette that includes an interview with Pen.
It sounds like Pendleton Ward’s Adventure Time with Finn and Jake is arriving on Cartoon Network in April now, but no firm date is set. Here’s the latest sneak peek:
Andrew Dickman toiled on his short Ivan the Unbearable during 2006 and 2007, and finally saw it air on NickToons in 2008 as part of their Random Cartoons project. Today you can finally see his 8-minute film right here.
Pendleton Ward’s Adventure Time with Finn and Jake won’t be on Cartoon Network until May 2010, but a promo already popped up on the channel.
I spotted that Douglas TenNapel (Catscratch, The Neverhood) is one of the artists providing storyboards. Those are set against audio to create… an animatic:
Bailee Desrocher is hosting a new Channel Frederator show called Cartoon Hangover and below you can view the first episode. This week she highlights Ben Ross’ film Slutbag Stationary.
Eric Robles’ Fanboy and Chum Chum is set to premiere on Nickelodeon on November 6th, and below is a recent promo hatched by the gang at Frederator. The crew is a talented bunch, including Steve Lambe handling character designs, and recent Emmy-winner Eddie Trigueros.
Completed in 2007, Jun Falkenstein’s Random Cartoons short Kyle + Rosemary finally aired earlier this year on Nicktoons. It’s a 7-minute short that combines 2D and CGI animation. The store follows “a Geek and a Goth who fall for eachother, even though their friends disapprove. The twist: they meet online, in the fantasy roleplaying game Questworld.”
