Tomorrow night at 8:30pm ET/PT on FOX, we’ll be treated to a new Peanuts holiday special. Would you believe that this is the 45th special? It’s also the 1st not produced without the late Bill Melendez. The hour-long special, titled Happiness Is a Warm Blanket, Charlie Brown, was produced by Wildbrain, the team producing HBO’s The Ricky Gervais Show and Yo Gabba Gabba!. The piece, which was adapted from comic strip material, was directed by Frank Molieri and Andrew Beall (who also provides the ‘voices’ of Woodstock and Snoopy). It’s also available on DVD. From what I’ve heard, FOX and the Schultz estate are closely watching how it performs tomorrow night, and imagining several more if an audience shows up. Here’s a clip:
It’s a tradition that’s older than most of today’s college students – The Simpsons Halloween Treehouse of Horror episode. This Sunday (8/7c, on FOX) we’re being treated to the 22nd (XXIII) episode in the series in which Bart transforms into an alien avatar.
In the run-up to the premiere, the team behind Allen Gregory is offering up some clips from the new animated series. Here we get a glimpse into young Mr. Gregory himself, and we start to understand what he’s all about. I’ll give you a hint – he’s a cock. I’m not so sure that character can carry a show. But the jury is out until Next Sunday (10/30) at 8:30/7:30c on FOX.
In the run-up to the October 30th premiere of their new animated series, Allen Gregory, FOX has released some character profile videos that examine what makes the show tick. I can’t quite tell yet why this was animated, and not shot live-action. It seems pretty ‘sit-commy’ and doesn’t appear to challenge the bounds of reality too much.

Many years back, I helped Phil Hendrie’s animated series pilot for FOX get off the ground, and the Six Point Harness project was subsequently beaten out by American Dad for a slot on the 2005 line-up. Hendrie, the popular syndicated radio personality, has since voiced several characters on series like Futurama and King of the Hill, and in the upcoming midseason FOX series Napoleon Dynamite, Hendrie plays the role of guidance counselor. You can hear his performance, which sounds much like his character Bobbie Dooley, in this first clip below.

Here’s the first trailer from FOX’s new series Allen Gregory, which was created by Jonah Hill. The set-up is sorta like “what if an 8 year old Stewie stopped trying to kill his Mom and went to school?” YouTubers seem to like this one, at least alot more than they like that trailer for Napoleon Dynamite, the other new animated FOX series coming this Fall.
