Way back in 2010, we featured a clip from Wallace & Gromit’s World of Invention, a six-part series that looks at real-life contraptions and gadgets. The series was commmissioned by the BBC, and directed by Merlin Crossingham. The full series is now available on DVD. Here’s a sample:
The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists (aka The Pirates! Band of Misfits) hits US theaters on April 27th, but the film sets sail for those lucky Brits on March 28th. The film, which is being directed by Peter Lord and Jeff Newitt, is based on Gideon Defoe’s book series, and is being produced by Aardman Animations. Here’s a clip:
The unexpected merger of Aardman’s Creature Comforts and the DC character universe is DC Nation. As with Creature Comforts, sound bites from adorable youngsters are transposed onto unlikely figures for our eyeball’s pleasure. This clip probably won’t be up long – so click the triangle.

You probably know Peter Peake as the stop-motion director behind projects like Pib and Pog. But the man is also an accomplished director in other mediums, like 2D and CG. This CG short is titled Pythagasaurus, which Peake wrote and directed, with animation by Pascale Bories.
Not long after their release of Arthur Christmas, Aardman Animations has another feature on tap. In March of 2012, Aardman and Sony Pictures Animation will reveal The Pirates! A new trailer for Sony’s upcoming CG feature, Arthur Christmas, is ready for unwrapping. It’s a co-production with Aarman Animations, who will deliver this new tale to theaters well ahead of Christmas – on November 23rd.
