Folksongs & Ballads Released Online
After teasing the film back in 2012, Mathieu Vernerie, Pauline Defachelles and Rémy Paul have released Folksongs & Ballads, their 2011 student film produced at Supinfocom. It’s a pensive, 8-minute film, with no dialog, and only scraps of story sprinkled here and there. But it’s compelling nonetheless, for we’re transported to a vivid world of desolate beauty, harsh elements and classic folksongs. The synopsis of the film is as follows: “In a isolated harbor town, an old Fisherman tries to resist inactivity.”
