The latest episode of College Humor’s IRL Files, where almost-unbelievable true stories are retold in animated form, we’re treated to a story of unexpected debauchery, revealed in film-noir style. I believe David Fishel directed and Chelsea Manifold animated. This segment is titled A Text In The Night.
The latest animated project on BBC Comedy is titled Nasty Habits, a project developed by Trunk Animation along with Laura Solon, a comedian who wrote the shorts and also voices Sister Veronica. Sister Ann is voiced by Katherine Parkinson, who stars in (the original British version of) The IT Crowd. Here’s an episode titled Bono:
Have you been following the new online series by Rob Schrab, the writer/producer/director of The Sarah Silverman Program? It’s called The Suits, and it’s apparently a 4-parter aimed at Channel101.com (which Schrab co-created with Dan Harmon), so I guess this is actually a mini-series. It’s been animated by MC Griffin, who also won Schrab’s Scud fan film contest. Enjoy:

I hadn’t seen anything from the tokyoplastic guys in a while. Perhaps I haven’t been looking, but it’s like they fell off the face of the Earth since they rocked the web with their bad-ass Drum Machine stuff years back. Alas, they have returned with a new micro-series called Kitty Kitty. Anders Freij animated these two below, which take us on a journey into a kitty cat’s dreams…

One of the funnier pieces to come out of Seth MacFarlane’s Cavalcade Of Cartoon Comedy was Die, Sweet Roadrunner, Die – an almost existential look at an animation classic. The short was re-released on YouTube recently, and a new, :30 second, animated Priceline bumper was bolted to the front. It’s worth another look.
Award-winning animator and designer Simon Robson is the director and producer behind Coalition of the Willing. The innovative animation effort is a collaborative film that encourages online activism as a response to global warming. Along with writer Timothy Rayner, Robson has enlisted a network of 24 artists from around the world to help bring this vision to life. Aside from Robson’s own Knife Party, studios such as World Leaders, Foreign Office and Mighty Nice all contributed to the online gallery, which will reveal new films over a 12 week period, leading up to the mid-April completion. Here’s Over the Counter Culture by Knife Party:
Sure it’s a new year, but Dr. Tran is getting screwed with like he has for years now. In this new episode, titled Nail to the Gut, poor Dr. Tran puts on more costumes than a contestant at the Lil’ Miss Cutesy Pie beauty pageant. As usual, the episode was created by Breehn Burns and Jason Johnson, and animated by Mark Salisbury.
