The multiplatform game Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure launched a couple weeks back, and I just watched this elaborate CG trailer below. If you saw Puss in Boots, you may have also seen it play before the movie. It was directed by Jorma Taccone at PandaPanther.

To support their upcoming launch of Portal 2, Valve Corportation has produced a series of CG spots, including this cheeky, commercial-within-a-commercial for Aperture Laboratories below. The cross-platform game is due out on April 19th. This piece is titled Aperture Investment Opportunity #1: “Panels”.
With 50 million downloads, Rovio’s Angry Birds is an undoubted smash hit, but can it make the leap into TV and film? So many video games have tried and failed, but if Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean theme park ride can become a huge movie franchise, why not, right? The latest word out of Rovio is that they are ready to go into production, but whether that’s for TV or the web, we will have to wait and see. Here’s a recent animated piece they created titled Angry Birds & the Mighty Eagle, which has been seen over 5 million times on YouTube alone.
The team behind the upcoming video game Epic Mickey appear to have done their homework. In this promo clip below, titled The Anatomy of the Animation, we see how much study the crew did to help translate Mickey Mouse’s movements from 2D into a CG video game. In this embedded video below I’m jumping us forward to the 2-minute mark where we see an example of how the team recreated Mickey animation from some of the early shorts. The game arrives in the US on November 30th.
