A new trailer for the upcoming CG feature Gnomeo & Juliet has arrived. It was produced for the UK market, and we learn a great deal more about the storyline, which almost seems Shakespearian (wink). The film is being produced at Starz Animation and it’s in theaters on February 11th, 2011.
The first Cars 2 teaser has been revealed, and it’s now confirmed that the 4-wheeled characters will be doing a little globe-trotting. From the meta data included in the upload, it appears as if they’ll visit France, Italy, Great Britain and Japan. Leading us to believe we’ve about to see a trailer for the new Mission: Impossible film, we instead meet the scene-stealer Mater and Lightning McQueen. Here’s what the voice-over offers: “The most advanced technology, the most exotic locations, the most dangerous assignments. Next summer get ready to roll with the world’s newest secret agents.” Two of the cast members of the original film, George Carlin and Paul Newman, have died since the release of the first film, and it’s supposed that Mark Silverman and Corey Burton will fill in for them as they have in other Cars spin-offs. The film, which is being co-directed by Brad Lewis and John Lasseter, hits theaters in Summer 2011.
Une vie de chat (A Cat in Paris) is an upcoming animated French feature directed by Alain Gagnol and Jean-Loup Felicioli. We are witness to a series of crimes, as is a cat who accompanies the thief. But the cat leads a double-life, and his daytime hours with Zoe, the daughter of the police chief, will help put a stop to the crime spree. The 70-minute project was produced by Folimage, who have released 2 features in the past, including the 2008 film Mia et le Migou (Mia and the Migoo). It arrives in French cinemas on December 15th.

Next year, the latest live-action film Conan will arrive in theaters, further perpetuating the tale of the muscle-bound barbarian. Theaters will also welcome another barbarian – Ronal. He’s the star of a new, Danish CG film from the creators of Terkel in Trouble, titled Ronal the Barbarian. Like Terkel, this film is not aimed at a family audience, and it’s billed with the tagline “Babes, Balls and Muscles – in 3D.” Directed by Thorbjørn Christoffersen and Kresten Vestbjerg Andersen, the 90 comedy doesn’t have a release date yet, but we now have our first trailer.
