Frangin is a 5-minute short by Geoffroy Moneyron. We meet a young boy who devises an unconventional way to track down his brother who has gone off to war. The short was produced at EMCA Angoulême.

Wallace & Gromit’s World of Invention on DVD

Way back in 2010, we featured a clip from Wallace & Gromit’s World of Invention, a six-part series that looks at real-life contraptions and gadgets. The series was commmissioned by the BBC, and directed by Merlin Crossingham. The full series is now available on DVD. Here’s a sample:

The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists (aka The Pirates! Band of Misfits) hits US theaters on April 27th, but the film sets sail for those lucky Brits on March 28th. The film, which is being directed by Peter Lord and Jeff Newitt, is based on Gideon Defoe’s book series, and is being produced by Aardman Animations. Here’s a clip:

Dadomani Studio in Italy produced this new stop-motion short titled TheBox – Poltergeist. Animator Dario Imbrogno uses unique character models to tell a story about a a dog and his master who are both addicted to TV.

Here’s a 1-minute trailer for Timothy Reckart’s graduation film, titled Head Over Heels. The stop-motion film, which Reckart produced while studying at the National Film & Television School, follows a married couple who have long since lost the spark in their relationship.
