The year ain’t over until JibJab puts ‘er to bed. So watch this video and then go toss your Christmas tree in the trash – cuz 2011 is a goner. Here’s 2011, Buh-Bye!, which was directed Jeff Gill and Evan Spiridellis.

And in this behind-the-scenes clip, you can see JibJab co-founder Evan Spiradellis working an Arnold puppet with his crew.

Lango’s Puppets My Bathroom

Keith Lango, an animation veteran who has devoted his blog to sharing his knowledge of animation to anyone who seeks it, has stepped away from his computer long enough to create this puppeted short called My Bathroom. While Keith is not quite ready to give up his day job animating in front of the computer, he’s made a channel of Vimeo for more shorts done with puppetry.

Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared doesn’t appear scary at all. Until it does. This acid-trip in pre-school clothing was created by This is It, “a collective of illustrators, animators, artists and designers based in London.” This short features puppets and some 2D animation, and it was directed by Becky Sloan and Joseph Pelling. Green isn’t a creative color, stupid!

Stacy Wall of Imperial Woodpecker directed this new spot for Boost Mobile, titled simply Puppets. We meet a poor grown-up who is surrounded by childish puppets, and locked into a childish mobile plan.

Miller Milks Comedy in WSPA Puppet Video

The World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) recently teamed up with Adam Miller, the creator of Mongrels, to create a comedic music video. Our Love is in Your Cornflakes is a live-action video with puppets, all telling the story of a farmer and a cow who miss eachother deeply. The video aims to bring attention cow factories, and how to stop them.

Here’s a creative take from art director Julien Vallée, as part of the ChallengeYourWorld.com effort, which is aided by the team at Motionographer. It’s one of 20 shorts that aim to “solve environmental issues.”

There’s a missing ingredient on the web, and it’s the Swedish Chef. Thankfully, his unhinged brand of kitchen kookiness will soon be on the internet menu, after reportedly being delayed since January. The Muppet’s Kitchen with Cat Cora is a new web series coming from Disney, and it will feature topics like Food You Can Eat with Your Hands Night. After the surprising return of The Muppets last year (see Bohemian Rhapsody), I’m optimistic that this is going to be an appetizing project. Here’s the teaser:
