Brazilian animation studio Animatório brought this powerful PSA for Amnesty International to life, under the creative guidance of Leo Burnett Lisbon. The message reminds me of the Unicef Smurf PSA from a few years back. This PSA is titled Everybody is Against Everybody.
Santa Maria, the Brooklyn-based twosome of Josh Goodrich and David Hill, have created a new PSA for the Ronald McDonald House Charities. The Dumbo Duo incorporate a panoply of animation styles (including stop-motion, hand-drawn, 3D, and matte paintings) into a surprisingly organic recounting of the fund’s mission and history. As the narration says, “things get better when they’re close to the things they love,” and it’s clear that a lot of love went into making this two-and-a-half minute spot, which was produced out of Hornet Inc. Watch the full PSA below, as well as a short behind-the-scenes look at Santa Maria in their studio.
I’m just gonna throw this out there – perhaps General Motors shouldn’t include the Grim Reaper in their TV ads anymore. While this is a well-intended designated driver PSA for the Ecuadorian market, I would have cast someone else in the ad, just to be safe. The car company doesn’t need any additional help falling off their financial cliff.
Does this remind anyone of that “When you ride alone, you ride with Hilter” poster?
Balázs Turai submitted this little animated film, titled Health Risk Assessment in D-Minor, to the Hungarian Civil Liberties Union’s Unintended Consequences – Global Drug War Poster & Video Contest. His film took 2nd place in the contest, which aims to poke holes in the current war on drugs.
Director Celyn from Nexus Productions brought this PSA for the WWF to life. It’s titled Because We’re All Connected. If the voice-over sounds familiar, it’s because you love The Office (the BBC version). Mackenzie Crook played Gareth Keenan on The Office, and he offers his vocal chops to this effort below. Ogilvy, London was the agency guiding the creative.
In a partnership with the U.S. Government, The Warner Bros. Entertainment Group has joined the fight against AIDS. In doing so, Warner Bros. Motion Picture Imaging has produced a series of animated shorts to promote and encourage responsible sexual behavior. These shorts, which are in Swahili, don’t actually have anything to do with HIV/AIDS, so they’re not PSAs. Instead, they’re CG-animated shorts promoting the characters and storylines of a video game, titled Pamoja Mtaani (Together in the Hood). The five animated shorts, including this one below titled Lefty, can be found at the HIV-Free Generation website.
