Tui’s New iPhone App – Monster Melody Mash

Australia’s Tui Studios has crafted a new iPhone app that features some stylish character animation. Produced with Anime Studio and After Effects, the animation took about 3 weeks. It’s titled Monster Melody Mash, and it lets users mix melodies with motion to create all sorts of funky rhythms. Here’s a trailer:

Jamie Mason (aka Hobo Divine) and Lily Bernard were recently called up on by JibJab to create a birthday card for their Starring You series, which allows users to include their photos inside the video. As LL Cool J is celebrating a birthday today, I threw him into the mix.

Hark! It’s Dickens’ yuletide classic A Christmas Carol as done by the ever-clever Andy Ochiltree and the JibJab gang. And Kanye only stars in this particular version – ‘cuz this is a Starring You video, which allows you to upload photos and distribute your own versions. I bet Hollywood director Robert Zemeckis will create one in which Jim Carrey plays all the characters. Check that – he already did.

Weird Al is no stranger to animation, and his latest video shows he’s no stranger to the mighty powers of the one and only C.N.R. – Charles Nelson Reilly. To pay proper homage to this Match Game star, Weird Al teamed up again (Do I Creep You Out) with JibJab. You may wonder why Bill Clinton, the North Korean negotiator, is co-starring in this one. That’s because I put him in there. This JibJab video is a Starring You project that allows site members to upload their own images into the project and share.

Patrick Boivin has risen quickly to his status as YouTube’s King of Stop Motion. Okay, I just gave him that title, but it’s true. With a half-dozen shorts boasting over a million views, Boivin is a major YouTube player, but perhaps the most impressive aspect of his catalog is the interactivity. Making good use of YouTube’s video annotations, Boivin’s YouTube Street Fighter, an interactive game, has been viewed over 5 million times. His latest game, Bboy Joker, is well on its way to similar success, and here’s a 2-minute behind the scenes look at his process:

The online animation maestros at JibJab have unveiled a new interactive Halloween treat. New in their Starring You series, which allows you to upload your own photos into the animation, is Gorgon the Destroyer, a stop-motion animated short. To get your creative juices flowing, JibJabbers have posted a version that includes vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin. Let’s just say not everyone in this short votes for her.
