Spots vs Stripes Qualifies For 2010 Best Animated Commercial

posted by Aaron

Glass and a Half Full Productions called upon Moving Picture Company to created this highly-entertaining 1:30 minute ad for Cadbury, who are a sponsor of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. It’s titled Spots vs Stripes, and it pits two squads of undersea competitors versus eachother in a game I’d describe as seaweed balloon popping. Very clever throughout, brilliant CG work and a easily one of my favorite spots of 2010. Nick Gordon at Academy Films directed.

Glass Half Full Productions, which is owned by Cadbury, were behind the immensely popular Cadbury Eyebrows ad.

Target’s Animated Spot Harkens Back to Happiness

posted by Aaron

Motion Theory is the production team behind this new spot for Target. It’s world-class work, but I feel like I’ve seen it all before in the Happiness Factory ads and the Hershey Off To Work We Go ad. I think the agencies get railroaded into creating yesterday’s work all over again. Chris Riehl directed the ad, which is titled A Better Bullseye.

Psyop Makes Refreshing Animated Kool-Aid Spots

posted by Aaron

Psyop just made Kool-Aid cool. So many animated spots aimed at kids are filled with lame, pandering characters that almost mock their audience. As expected, the world-class team at Psyop brought life and imagination to these Fun Fizz ads. Here’s one of my favorites:
