Behind the Scenes of Bboy Joker

Patrick Boivin has risen quickly to his status as YouTube’s King of Stop Motion. Okay, I just gave him that title, but it’s true. With a half-dozen shorts boasting over a million views, Boivin is a major YouTube player, but perhaps the most impressive aspect of his catalog is the interactivity. Making good use of YouTube’s video annotations, Boivin’s YouTube Street Fighter, an interactive game, has been viewed over 5 million times. His latest game, Bboy Joker, is well on its way to similar success, and here’s a 2-minute behind the scenes look at his process:

Secrets of South Korean Stop-Motion

You watch more South Korean animation than you probably know. The Simpsons, Spongebob and dozens of other hit 2D shows are animated in Seoul. But did you know there’s a great deal of stop-motion animation happening in South Korea? Me neither. I recently spotted some behind-the-scenes footage from a TV series called Infinity Challenge, which appears to be some sort of game show. Somehow, animation is worked into the series, thanks to Show Time Animation Studio.

Animating Honda’s Dreams
