PRA Composes Series of Itty Bitty Ditties

Australian studio The People’s Republic of Animation (PRA) have revealed the first episode of a 10-part, intersticial, musical TV series titled Itty Bitty Ditties. The project was created and directed by PRA’s James Calvert, and features artwork by Chris Edser. The project began airing on the Australian network ABC3, and the 1-minute songs are apparently all as nonsensical as this one, which details which body part love eminates from. If I tell you the title of the song, it’ll ruin the joke.

Parasite – An Animated War Short From Iran

Iranian animator Omid Khoshnazar is getting set to release a new CG short, titled Parasite. The 9-minute film is a war story about a soldier confronted by an imaginary enemy. Here’s a trailer:

Rhino Freestyles Animation For Beeline

The Tel-Aviv-based animation studio Rhino recently produced this CG spot for the Russian telecommunications company Beeline. It was directed by Natasha Saenko and animated by Jaime A. CastaƱeda and Sean Curran. The agency on the job was Lowe Adventa.

The Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures DVD

Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures – The Complete Series is available on DVD today. We don’t highlight much animation aimed at kids on this site, but it’s a safe argument that Mighty Mouse wasn’t. While Mighty Mouse was first introduced in 1942, it was revived several times, and most recently by Ralph Bakshi (Fritz the Cat). Beyond that, the crew Bakshi assembled included some young artists that went on to define the animation industry – like John Kricfalusi (The Ren and Stimpy Show), Bruce Timm (Batman: The Animated Series) and Andrew Stanton (Wall-E). New Archer Clip

Archer, Adam Reed’s new animated series on FX, premieres on January 14th at 10pm, and a few new clips have emerged. Here’s one that highlights the star of the show, Sterling Archer, who is voiced by H. Jon Benjamin (Ben on Dr. Katz and Jason Penopolis on Home Movies).

Mr. Pricklepants – A New Toy Story 3 Character

Toy Story 3 director Lee Unkrich introduces a new character in this short featurette. Mr. Pricklepants is voiced by Timothy Dalton, of James Bond fame.
