Gorillaz started their world tour last night in Montreal, and this animatic for the music video of Rhinestone Eyes was included in the show. Can’t wait to see it realized in full animation.

Back in October, we posted a 4-minute pencil test from Bill Plympton’s upcoming short Cheatin’. Today Plympton posted the second part:

This animated short by Michael Stevenson, his senior film from San Francisco State University, is a bright and colorful masterpiece of claymation.

According to his website – Pigeon Pilfer was completed in four months with sixty pounds of clay, a digital SLR camera, and one tiny hot room.

Tom Ellery, who has a story credit on Beauty and the Beast and more recently was a story artist on the upcoming Disney 2D feature The Princess and the Frog, is seeking completion funding for a 4:30 minute short. The Hunter and the Gatherer is a comedic, pantomimed film that follows the trials of a man at the mall, and below you can see the first-pass thumbnail animatic for the film (the actual animatic starts around 1:00). A shorter animatic follows for another concept titled Cheep Date.
