Saghezchi’s Animated Short Trevor Now Online

Back in June, we posted the title sequence from Matthieu Saghezchi’s film Trevor, which was produced during his studies at Ecole Emile Cohl in France. The entire film is now online, which you can see below. Congrats on graduating, Matthieu!

Gorillaz Help Launch IE9 in the UK

Gorillaz, known as “the world’s greatest animated band,” have teamed up with Microsoft to help launch the new Internet Explorer 9 browser in the UK. Here’s a clip below, and you can watch the entire 7-minute launch video over on the HTML5-styled Gorillaz website that’s been optimized for IE9.

New Animated Streetlight Manifesto Music Video

Sutherland Invites You To Explore Umbra

The latest short from Canada’s Malcolm Sutherland (Astronmer’s Dream) feels like an existential meditation on life as we know it. Umbra a cyclical film that views a new world through the eyes of an explorer who soon realizes that this world isn’t so new anymore. I’m curious about the production method – it feels very organic, as if it was painted on a single slab, with each frame painting over the last.

Bordeau Departs School After Finishing Pirate Short

Titouan Bordeau has finished his studies at Lycée Marie Curie à Marseille, but not before creating this dialog-free short, titled Rendez Vous. It’s a brief love story between a retired pirate and a large mermaid. [NSFW - animated nudity]
