Silva Takes a Trip to Bedrock

posted by Pasquale

In this new intro for sports radio Dialogo Deportivo, Andres Silva (Makinita) delivers a humourous animation style in his comedic parody of The Flintstones. What is most interesting is his choice of software tools; Corel Painter with Adobe After Effects. This Ecuadorian (now Toronto based) artist is inspired by the likes of Tex Avery and, of course, John K.You can find more of his 2D artwork on his deviantArt gallery.

Carrying The Torch

posted by Pasquale

BBDO Toronto and Proximity Canada have produced an energetic spot for the RBC. It’s a hybrid of 3d & pop-up book aesthetic,  imparting a very cute and youthful feel. Most importantly, it gives Canadians the opportunity to carry the Olympic torch, if they are lucky enough to win the honour.

American Express Gets Tactile

posted by Pasquale

American Express and Ogilvy London‘s commercial Play Doh is a fun new stop motion commercial. It cleverly exploits the natural aesthetic of Hasbro’s modeling clay Play-Doh, and gracefully metamorphosises into an array of eye-candy sculpture. The spot was designed and animated by National Television, and produced by Not To Scale. Ogilvy’s advertising sector of the “12 part company” updates progress on efforts such as the animated Burma campaign on its blog.
