To say that Nick Park’s most recent Wallace and Gromit film, A Matter of Loaf and Death, was a success in the UK would be a sizeable understatement. In 2008, it premiered on UK TV (BBC) on Christmas day and over 14 million people tuned in, giving it a 53% share of audience and making it the most-watched program of the year. Share-wise, that’s equivalent to what the Super Bowl pulls in here in the US.
The film has since picked up the BAFTA Award for best short animation and an Annie for Best Animated Short Subject, and next Tuesday it will be available on DVD. Below is the DVD trailer and a clip from the 29-minute Aardman Animations film, which looks as clever as the rest of the collection.
